I grew up in a large family that gathered frequently, if not every day! This taught me at an early age the importance of community. I could have the worst of days, yet find joy at the family dinner table cracking jokes  with my siblings.

Fast forward to college.  I attended a predominately white Christian university where it was normal to be the only non-white person in my class and in my dorm. Being in community with the few non-white students on campus was how I survived to graduation and where my event planning journey started. What started out as just me planning a zero budget potluck to bring people together, turned into 5-figure budget events managing teams both with the same goal: building community.

 

The rest is history.

My faith, family & friendships are my core values. Better Together symbolizes what the Apostle Paul teaches us in 1 Corinthians 12, which is the beauty of unity in diversity. At each event that we host, manage, or plan at Better Together, we hope that individuals leave the space inspired & empowered through community.
